Dr. Patel completed her fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Care at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Queens and her Internal Medicine residency at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education. She holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine - Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Psychiatry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating with institutional and departmental honors.
Throughout her career, Dr. Patel has led numerous quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient experience, reducing healthcare costs, and optimizing care transitions. Her work has been presented at national conferences including the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM). She has also been active in community education, international medical volunteering, and leadership roles in academic and clinical settings.
Dr. Patel is fluent in English and Gujarati, and conversational in Hindi and Spanish. Her clinical practice is distinguished by a deep commitment to improving communication in serious illness, advancing equity in end-of-life care, and integrating evidence-based practices for symptom management and dementia care.
